A passionate builder and enthusiast sharing the joy of custom mechanical keyboards one build at a time.
How I fell down the mechanical keyboard rabbit hole
Stuck indoors during the pandemic, I stumbled upon some mechanical keyboard sound test videos, and they completely blew my mind. The variety in sound and feel seemed endless, and I quickly became fascinated. The idea of building a keyboard tailored exactly to my preferences, something I'd use every day, was incredibly compelling. I dove into research and became eager to try everything I could.
After months of researching the build process, including lubing switches, tuning stabilizers, foam modding, and chasing that perfect sound, I took the plunge. I started small with a budget GK61x kit with Gateron Yellows just to see if I'd enjoy it. I was instantly hooked. From there, I began documenting my builds and sharing sound tests on YouTube.
This was the year things really escalated. I started joining group buys and investing in more premium parts. I experimented with both budget-friendly plastic builds and high-end full aluminum boards. Along the way, I discovered one of my all time favourites, the HHKB by PFU/Fujitsu with Topre (electrostatic-capacitive switch).
I started building custom keyboards for friends, sharing what I'd learned and introducing more people to the hobby. It was a great way to keep the excitement alive.
These days, I've mostly stepped away from the hobby. I'm not up to date with the latest trends or releases, but I still build a board every now and then, usually for friends. While I'm not as active, the appreciation for the craft is still there.
It's not just about the keyboards, it's about the journey and the joy of creation
Every keyboard is a canvas for creativity. From switch selection to keycap pairing, each decision shapes the final experience and tells a unique story.
Building keyboards for friends and sharing knowledge has created great vibes. A hobby is better when shared with others.
A creative outlet, blending craftsmanship with art. It lets me capture unique designs through photos, sound tests, and build videos, all while having fun with editing
When I'm not building keyboards, you'll find me listening to music, playing guitar, making videos, or enjoying video games.
